Diamond Peak Opens December 19th!

Diamond Peak Opens December 19th!

The wait is over. Our local ski resort officially opens tomorrow, Friday, December 19, 2025, kicking off an incredible 60th season of operations. For six decades, the mountain has been a gathering place for skiers and riders, delivering memorable days on snow and continuing a long-standing winter tradition in our community.

To recognize the milestone, opening-day guests can expect a few celebratory touches. The first 60 visitors at Lodgepole will receive commemorative giveaways, and the first chair of the season will be awarded a special swag bag. Guests are encouraged to arrive prepared, with passes ready, and to share the news as the season officially gets underway.

Early-season operations will focus on beginner terrain and instructional services as snow coverage continues to develop.

Each opening day brings renewed excitement, and this season carries added significance as the resort enters its 60th year of operation. With the first turns of winter ahead, the mountain is once again open and ready to welcome guests back for another season on snow.

Embracing the Lake Tahoe Lifestyle

Embracing the Lake Tahoe Lifestyle

The Allure of Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe isn’t just a place to visit, it’s a lifestyle. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, this alpine gem boasts crystal-clear waters framed by towering peaks, making it one of the most stunning spots in the country. But what truly sets Lake Tahoe apart is the range of activities and experiences it offers year-round. From skiing and snowshoeing in the winter to boating, hiking, and biking in the warmer months, there’s always an adventure waiting.

Outdoor Adventures Await

Life in Lake Tahoe is all about embracing the outdoors. With over 75 miles of hiking trails, you can explore lush forests, mountain vistas, and hidden waterfalls. On the lake, kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing provide endless ways to enjoy the scenery. And when winter arrives, the slopes take center stage, offering world-class skiing and snowboarding. Each season brings something new, keeping life here exciting and active.

Community, Connection, and Culture

Living in Lake Tahoe means joining a community that values both nature and connection. Local events, farmers’ markets, and art festivals highlight the area’s vibrant culture, while the slower pace of life encourages relaxation and well-being.

One of the first things we did after moving to Incline Village was join the Incliners, IVGID’s longest-running and largest active adult club. The Incliners offer a dynamic lineup of social events and activities, perfect for building friendships and fully immersing yourself in the mountain community. Whether you’re looking for lively gatherings or meaningful connections, there’s something for everyone, just keep in mind you must be over 49 to join. Learn more here.

Not ready to join? No problem. There’s always something happening in town. Grab a group of friends for trivia or bingo at Alibi Aleworks, join one of the two Rotary clubs, hop on a mountain biking or hiking group, or even try out the local bowling league. The options are endless, and there’s truly something for every interest.

Why People Choose Lake Tahoe

Many who visit find themselves drawn back, ready to make this remarkable area their second home, or even their permanent residence.
