Twitter Rotation VI

Think it is time to mix things up a bit in my following list.

I have been trying to rotate the information sources and people I learn/hear from in a very systematic way as the Libra in me wants everything to be fair and balanced, but as I go through the list of people I have been following – I see about 1/3 of them rarely post tweets so I am hearing from the other 2/3, a lot, which kind of defeats the purpose of diversifying my network.

So in this rotation…I am going to break out of the system and go for recommendations.

I would like to get back to 400 people that I follow (for now), so I am looking for the one person YOU follow on Twitter that you think I should be too, and will add the first 40 names that come my way.

I would also love to know why they strike a chord with you as that is a quick easy introduction into their life for me. Do they make you laugh? Have you learned something from them? Are they pushing the curve in their industry? Do they have an interesting story to tell? Are they best friends with @davejmatthews and can get me front row seats to any show I want at a reasonable cost?

Alright, alright – the last item might be reaching a bit….

There are a lot of smart, interesting folks in Twitterland and I hope this experiment exposes me to different industries, occupations, likes and dislikes – providing me the opportunity to learn something new every single day.

All I ask, dear Universe, is that all 40 are NOT Marketing/PR consultants. I might just lose my shit if that happens.

Ryan, I am not really sure what you 'forgive me' for...calling you a spammer? Believing you are using your software program to encourage people to spam their networks? I have a lot to say on this subject and it needs to come out in a post as here in the comments will not do. I need room to write. Lamar - I added Melody to my following list. Thank you for the recommendation. Jillian - Added you. :) Vanessa - I cannot find someone named @teddytowncier, is it a misspelling?

@TeddyTowncier is a great choice if you're looking for a new follow. Not only is he witty and entertaining, he's also a huge source of ideas. Talking with him is always sure to produce a golden nugget. Cheers!

Today is #breviewfri on Twitter. I think a great way to find some good non-Marketing/PR follows to diversify your 'following' would be to do a twitter search for that tag and choose five or so that are reading something awesome. If you can't find anyone that way, you can certainly follow me: @JillianAnderson. :) Good luck.

I think you should follow Melody Cambell on Twitter at http://twitter.com/smbizguru. Melody is coach and business consultant. She has her own BlogTalk Radio program. If you can imagine someone shinning sunlight into your life on a rainy day, that would be Melody. If there ever was a woman with a gift for making you feel good when you felt otherwise, it's her. I think you should use your tweets to lift up folks and special events. You could, for example, link a tweet to a Squidoo lens and uplift a shopping center grand opening. This was done last October in Hidden Valley Lake, CA. Want proof? Visit www.squidoo.com/HSCGOPLetters. Please note that folks across the county helped out here with "Dear Editor" letters. Why did they even bother? Because they understand the power and benefit that exists in lift other folks up...first! Some call it the ethics of reciprocity. Others call it "netweaving." But, most think of it as simply the Golden Rule in action. But, regardless of what you call it, the process really does work. It actually helped bring the Fox News Channel to Middletown, CA back in 2006 for the first time in 45 years. Believe it or not, 30 high school students put that process in motion. if high school students can get a worldwide network to sit up and take notice, imagine what grown-ups could do if they thought in terms of mutual collaboration or wikinomics.

You know what? I forgive you. I know you think I am spamming but I think you'll really like my product. I'll give you a free copy if you follow me. Trust me, I'm a real "GURU" when it comes to internet marketing. Many people out there claim they are but aren't, "beware." You could ask me any question you have when it comes to internet marketing and I'll provide you with the answer. That's why I do what I do. Again, if you follow me, I'll provide you with a free copy of Viral Tweets. Reconsider and see what you are really missing. To Your Success, Ryan Wade

@Lamarjmorgan is constantly poking around in new ideas and his posts frequently stimulate lively debates and subsequently more enlightenment for us. At least once a month Lamar delivers a valuable nugget for me. When Lamar has an idea ... The existing facts don't count. He's a must follow for me.

I love that first two recommendations are because these folks make you both laugh. That is fantastic! Sarah - I get to DC about once a year, so will make sure I give you ladies a heads up to test Laurie's happy hour prowess. Jeff - yes, my dear, you ARE cool. Adding Amy now. Many thanks.
